JAGUAR ACTIVITY KEY
If you notice lots of Jaguar and Land Rover drivers wearing wristbands that resemble Fitbits but don't believe they're just trendy fitness wear. Instead, they're wearing Jaguar's Activity Key, a lightweight and shockproof wristband that eliminates the need for you to carry a traditional key fob. The device makes use of RFID technology to secure and unlock your vehicle. To use it, simply press the tailgate button to activate the RFID antenna and then put your wristband in the "J" of Jaguar on the rear gate of your car. The lights on the hazard will flash to indicate that the vehicle is locked. The key fob will be turned off until you return.
This feature is available on many Jaguar models, including the E-PACE or I-PACE. It can be paired with your preferred fitness app or WearOS watches to gain more features. However, if you wish to use your Activity Key with a Wear OS device or other smartwatch, be aware that it will not work with vehicles made before MY21.

JAGUAR KEYS
The days of acquiring replacement keys at the local hardware shop are largely over. Instead, drivers with new Jaguar need to purchase one at the dealership and then be able to program it with an authorized service provider. The cost of a Jaguar key fob ranges between $600 and $600, depending on the model and car.
The Jaguar XE comes with advanced keyless entry. This allows you to open the doors without having to hunt for keys in your purse or pockets. Simply place your Jaguar genuine smart key fob in the vicinity of the door handle of your vehicle, proximity sensors will be able to detect it. When your Jaguar XE detects the key fob, it will unlock doors and disarm alarms automatically.
You can also press and hold the unlock icon to secure your Jaguar XE's windows as well as the sunroof compartment. The Jaguar XE also displays a headlamp symbol to turn on your car's lights for 25 seconds and an indicator for luggage to open the rear storage.
When your Jaguar's key fob battery is depleted it will display an "SMART KEY BATTERY LOSS" message in the infotainment center. They are based on a different subplatform that requires an entirely different method of key programming than the earlier ones. They use a separate keyless system that cannot be read via OBD and can't be added to by dealers without connecting to the internal CANBUS using CB012.
The good news is that there are some tools that will allow you to include an additional key in this case, but there are no assurances. It is recommended to locate a local expert to avoid the hassle and cost of shipping your vehicle to an unreachable location to receive service. If you're not able to locate one, then you can engage an independent locksmith.
